One of the advantages to Buying a New Car is
that you have a lot of freedom on deciding on what make, model, color,
equipment etc.InvoiceDealers.com,
Edmunds.com
and
Automotive.comare great sites to get quotes fromwith the specs you want!
Now that we know you can Buy a Car and
how much you can afford it is time to get some scrap paper and make some
notes. Make 3 columns. At the top I want you to write down what
you can afford to spend on your New Car. Now I want you to write in column 1 what
you need in a car like 2 doors or 4 doors,
automatic, truck or SUV, power windows and door locks etc. Now in a
column 2 write what you would like to have in your New Car
such as a sunroof, gps etc. In the 3rd column I want you
to put your top 3 priorities for your New Car like performance, safety, comfort, convenience and so on.
There we have a paper with what you can afford, need, want and what your
priorities are in your New Car. The next step
is to go to
Edmunds.com
and
research the makes and models out there, no need to get a quote yet
though. They have great tools for this!
It is ok you can GO to
Edmunds.com
right
now (it will open in a new window) and start doing your research.
Now while doing your research I want you to keep in mind your 3 columns
and as far as price goes give yourself a $3000.00 or so padding. Right
now we are just determining which Cars best fit into
your needs, wants and priorities.
By now you should realize that each manufacture has a model that falls
into your category of Car that you
want to Buy. I want you to pick the 3 cars that come the closest to the perfect
match for your New Car. If there are more than 3 start to narrow
it down by price and then
how much you like the look etc.
In the end you should end up with 3 Cars you
are looking at for your Buying choice. It will
probably be 3 different makes as well such as Chevrolet, Ford etc.
